Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount from Matthew 5-7 is said to encompass Jesus’ most famous words. Beginning with the “beatitudes” these three chapters have something to say to the church, to the political world, to the difficult issues of war and poverty, and to the individual follower of Jesus Christ.  Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount is collectively a sermon to and about the church, calling us to more faithful living as a radical community of love. This six week Bible study will involve a minimal level of reading each week, and will challenge all to a deeper level of spirituality during this season of Lent.
